From South Florida to the Outer Banks — 40+ Years in the Making
ZGlassing was founded in 1982 in the Deerfield Beach area of South Florida — a region then, as now, known for its deep concentration of boatbuilders, marine tradespeople, and the high standards that come from working in one of the world's most active boating markets.
It was there the foundations were laid: hand layup techniques, gelcoat chemistry, structural lamination for offshore conditions, and the discipline that comes from working alongside South Florida's best marine craftsmen at a time when American boatbuilding was at its peak.
From South Florida, years of work in Honolulu brought a different ocean with different demands — Pacific surf, tropical UV loads, and the specific requirements of Hawaii's surf industry. Surfboard glassing, ding repair, and fiberglass work on sportfishing and charter vessels in one of the world's most beautiful and demanding marine environments.
Today ZGlassing is based in Kill Devil Hills on North Carolina's Outer Banks — bringing all of that combined experience to OBX boat owners, surf shops, charter captains, and marine businesses who need a craftsman they can trust with their most important equipment.
